Google Nest Hello Doorbell

Hello.

My Google Nest Hello doorbell has a continuous green blinking light on the top section, not around the button.  I have tried rest, and full reset and it continues to blink.  i have even disconnected and conected to my pc via usb, and it still blinks green.  Any ideas?

Thanks!

Google Nest does not document a flashing green status light for the Google Nest Hello Doorbell: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9268073. It DOES document a flashing green light for the battery doorbell and the 2nd Gen Google Nest Doorbell ("a live doorbell interaction is being used"). How old is your doorbell?

When you performed the reset and the factory reset, did your doorbell react as documented (https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9252162)?

If you want to talk to Support, you can use the link and instructions in this post:

Thanks for the reply.  It is wired, and the light is definitely flashing green, lol.  I purchased it in July of 2020.  When I did the factory reset, it stops (very briefly) and goes right back to flashing green as soon as it powers back up.

@FH007

Well, if you didn't get a blinking yellow light 4 times, with a countdown tone, followed by a solid yellow light and a confirmation tone, it's possible the factory reset did not occur, and it only did a restart. Many customers in this forum have reported finding it difficult to get the reset button depressed so that the factory reset occurs.

Otherwise, it's possible your doorbell has failed. There are a few other reports in this forum reporting the same thing, but they don't show any resolution. You could try contacting Support using the link and instructions in the post below:

Thanks.   I'll try the reset again, if not, will contact support.  I do suspect its dead only after 3 years.

It's too bad Google Nest does not offer the same kind of warranty protection that Ring offers, where their cameras and doorbells have warranty protection as long as you have a subscription.

Hello FH007,

Checking in — did you get a chance to try to do a factory reset again on your Nest Hello Doorbell? If so, how did it go? Let me know if you need more help.

I appreciate the help, @MplsCustomer.

Hello,

Yes, i tried the factory reset again.  the unit is dead.  keeps flashing green upon reboot.  Cannot get it to do anything else.  Looks like i have to purchase a new unit...after only 3 years.

Thanks for the follow up.
