Google Nest IQ camera deaths 50%+ failure?

Am I right that Google Nest IQ Cameras just die after a very short lifespan ?  (Zero amps power draw, no lights etc)

I've now had TWO of these die the same way, just went offline and now doesn't boot up or even draw any power, even with different USB power blocks & testing meters.

Just seems a terribly unreliable product!
