Google Nest doorbell 2nd gen cannot factory reset

I have had Google Nest doorbell 2nd Gen for three weeks or so. It's been working fine. Today the it's blinking yellow. I took it off the wall and tried restarting it but to no avail. Then, I tried factory reset, yet again no luck. Can you help?

If the status light is slowly blinking yellow, the doorbell isn't getting enough power. Have you checked your transformer? You may need to upgrade your transformer to one that is rated for 16-24 V AC, 10-40 VA to provide enough power to your doorbell.

@yuenkeen

Quite a few customers in this forum have reported they upgraded to a 16V 30VA transformer to get either their older Google Nest Hello Doorbell or their newer 2nd Gen Google Nest Doorbell to work correctly. We did so a couple of years ago for our Nest Hello doorbells.

Perhaps factors such as the length of wiring in some of our homes means we require more than what Google Nest says is the minimum power.

Hi Emerson,

I was able to upgrade the transformer (apparently my older transformer is rated lower but multimeter showed 16V during first installation). The greenlight is back.

However, after factory reset and re-installation, my electronic chime stops working consistently. It only rings once every few attempts. I read somewhere the chime puck could be faulty. Could you provide guidance how to get a replacement puck?

Thanks.
