Hi there, during our reno. Our doorchime and door nest connecter (inside it) were thrown out. This is for the wired Google Nest doorbell. Options?
1. Can you pls direct me to a place I can buy a replacement door nest connector (the little piece that goes inside door chime?
2. Is there a google door chime box that already works with wired google nest that I can buy?
Please chime in (pun intended).
Thanks everyone.

I just had to replace mine, and an electrician who installs Nest Doorbells happened to have one. The only place to buy one is through eBay (no kidding) or to contact an electrician who installs Nest products and hope they have some. It's a common enough issue that I'm surprised Google doesn't sell them in the store with other Nest accessories.

Thx for replying. I was afraid of that. It's not cheap. The other question I have is do I even need a door chime? Can a wired Google Nest doorbell work without a door chime? Right now it has no power to it but that's because the door chime was removed. Wires are there where door chime was.

Well, if you have wires that provide power, it should work, even if you don't have an indoor chime box. It still chimes at the door, but you might not hear it if it's far away. It can alert you if you have a Home Hub in your house too. I know some people without indoor chime boxes do that.

Okay, that's interesting. It is wired but electrician (I guess) has to do something to the wires where the chime was "to close the power loop or something" so electricity reaches doorbell again? Does that make sense? PS. ebay canada, it's $100 to get the google connector. #crazy

Hi everyone,
Thanks for reaching out. Let's get this sorted out.
When and where was the Nest Doorbell(wired) bought and what country are you located in?
You can also check this article on how to Check Nest doorbell compatibility for suggested chime requirements.

I love it, SteveT1! Okay, Canada. Model: Nest Doorbell (wired) Serial no. 19AA02CT282002H8. I can't use the indoor power adapter as it looks like it has to be directly wired to the doorbell which is no good for us. Question: Can I make this doorbell work (on our devices only) without the Indoor Power adapter Ninety7 Indoor Power Adapter for Google Nest Doorbell? AND follow up question, our last chime box (that was thrown out accidentally) worked great BUT the google connector didn't fit well in the chime box when connected. Do you have a reco of a chime box that accomodates the google connector in it? Thx SteveT1.

Hi there,
Thanks for the response. You can power up your Nest Doorbell (wired) the conventional way, by connecting it to a transformer if you don't want to use an Indoor power adapter. We also don't have a recommendation for chime boxes. You just need to make sure that chime connector doesn't touch the chime or any moving parts. You can also check the video in this article on how to install the Nest Doorbell (wired) where he just put the chime connector outside of the chime box.
For your chime connector request, we'd like to check your replacement options — could you fill out this form and let me know once done: https://bit.ly/31vCfcQ
