Google Nest indoor camera wired 2nd gen

My last blog a week ago or so detailed how I was having difficulty getting started. I ended up deleting  the Nest App and Google home app, unplugging the camera overnight. The next day I plugged the camera back in and downloaded both apps again

That worked. 
Now I am having trouble with HOME AWAY. So today, I removed the NEST as Community member said that the NEST app is not compatible with the Google Home app. 

if this doesn’t work, I am going to return the camera. I have put in too much time  trying to get this camera to work 

I am only trying to monitor a barking puppy because of neighbor complaints!!

I can’t see I new  camera on the Nest app, only on the Google home App. The rest of the cameras I can se on both apps

From what I understand the Google Home App is not compatible with the NEST App for the 2nd Gen wired Google NEST Camera. I did remove the NEST app, and it seemed that the Camera worked better.  Does the NEST app let you sign that one camera over to the Google App?

I could only activate it in the Google Home app, wouldn’t allow me to do it in the Nest app. The Nest app seems to work better for me but I think they are phasing it out in favor of the Google home app I guess?

I agree. Yesterday (or day before), when I went to look at Nest, it should me a thermostat in my condo in SF, which has a totally different email address (I am FL for a few more weeks). So that alarmed me. I then deleted NEST app. Looked at Google App, and I was able to see more items in Settubgs that were not there when I started this camera setup, so I assume they upgraded their app. I don’t think their technology is up to date with what they are telling us. I saw an informational from them on the blog site saying the had the NEST camera for $59 on Google Store video went at looked for it, as I paid $200 and can still send it back. It was not there. One hand not j owing what the other is doing, perhaps!

Thank you for your feedback on this issue, I fully understand the frustrations of not having your new Nest Cams in the Nest App or available on https://goo.gle/3A7x7ug web app. I can imagine having to use two different apps at the moment is quite daunting, and could lead to frustration. 

 

However, the new Nest cameras and doorbell are exclusive to the Home app because we wanted to create an integrated experience with your speakers and displays. A Nest Aware subscription applies to all of your cameras, speakers, and displays in the same home structure. Thank you for your continued patience, and support.
