Google door bell

Google doorbell arrived today. Not happy. Having difficulty connecting the doorbell to an already in place mini google speaker. Follow instructions via several you tube videos and get to where you are supposed to switch on visitor announcements- goes blue, but doorbell theme remains greyed out! I bought it to connect to the house network and have a doorbell! Got nothing other than the video stream and advice the bell is being rung but only on my phone. Any advice in non technical speak would be appreciated.

• At the top right, tap your account.
• Tap Feedback 

• tap the type of device you'd like to submit feedback for.
• To display available emails, in the "From:" section, tap the arrow on the right. Select your email address.
• In the feedback summary, write a brief description of your issue.
• Be sure to check the box for Screenshot and System logs.
• To submit feedback, at the top right corner, tap Send
