Google indoor Nest Security Cam 1080p (Wired) - 2nd Generation records event but no alert

I'm trying to help someone set a  Google indoor Nest Security Cam 1080p (Wired) - 2nd Generation. It set up easily and does everything (detects a person, records the event) but it does not give an audible alert on the cell phone. I've gone through all the troubleshooting steps, checked notifications on the phone and camera, rebooted the router and modem, rebooted the camera, uninstalled and reinstalled Google home, made sure the volume was up on the phone.

I'm stumped. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hello clk1,

Thank you for reaching out. I understand that your Google Nest Indoor Security Cam 1080p (Wired) - 2nd Generation detects people and records events, but you are not receiving alert notifications on your mobile devices. I'm happy to assist you with this.

You mentioned that you have already checked the notification settings. To confirm, could you please verify that you reviewed the options outlined in the "Camera and Doorbell Alerts" guide? You can find the steps for activation there. Please let me know if these are the steps you previously attempted.

I look forward to your response.

Regards,

Manuel

Hi clk1,

Thank you for your reply. I have another question to confirm: is the inconvenience limited to the alerts you receive on your phone or in your email account, or does it affect both?

I look forward to your response.

Regards,

Manuel

I'm not sure I understand your question. I get no ping or chime on the cell phone when an event occurs nor do I receive any others on email or on the phone.

Hi clk1,

Thank you for continuing to post. I recommend you check if you are using the correct Google account. Please follow these steps:

  1. Open the Google Home app.

  2. On the home screen, tap the profile icon in the top right corner to confirm whether you are signed in to the right account. If not, tap the account name to switch accounts or "Add another account."

I will await your response.

Regards,

Manuel

Hi Manuel,

Could you define "right account"? Do you mean one that is also used for email on the phone? If so, yes it is the correct account.
