Hi there
I would like to have the nest doorbell (battery) out the front of our house and the nest cam battery out the back. We live in a rental so want to avoid connecting to existing wiring etc. can I view the footage straight to my phone only or must I purchase the hub also? Help. I’m getting so confused!

You do NOT need a Nest Hub to view any Google Nest camera. If you purchase either the Google Nest Doorbell (Battery) or the Google Nest Camera (Battery), you can view them on your phone or other mobile device (like an iPad) that is running the Google Home app. Note that these new cameras can ONLY be viewed in the Google Home app and NOT in the Google Nest app. In addition, because they are battery powered, they will be in "Idle" mode all the time and when you go to the camera in the Google Home app, you'll need to select the "Live" view to view the camera live. Also, you can view events that occurred within the last 3 hours without having a Nest Aware subscription. To see a history of events beyond that, you'll need a Nest Aware subscription. Also, many customers in this forum report that the battery doorbell and battery camera--because they are in "Idle" mode normally--are a little late in detecting and recording events (people, motion, etc.).
