Google nest doorbell

Bought a new house, came with a Google nest cam (battery version). We’ve downloaded the Nest and Google home app, we’ve attempted to add the device several times without luck. Vicious cycle of ‘something went wrong, try again or try to turn on and off airplane mode.’ Ready to toss it and buy a Ring. Any idea what to do? We obviously have new WiFi too as we moved in last month. I can only see how to add the new WiFi through the app, but can’t add the device to the app. Frustrated is an understatement.

I just want to say I'm in the exact same boat.  I've been trying to add a wireless doorbell ALL **bleep** DAY.  Nest was great before google bought it.  I'm ready to throw the whole thing away.

Hate it for you - but sort of relived to see it’s not just us. Can’t add the device to the app to activate the WiFi -  Can’t activate the WiFi if not added to the device. Vicious circle.

Hey there,

Thank you for bringing up the concern you're experiencing, I would love to look into this further for you. The first troubleshooting step that I'd recommend would be to restart your device. This process should keep all your settings, and reconnect it to the same Wi-Fi network. This is helpful if it ever freezes, has connection problems, or isn't working normally. If the restart or factory reset doesn't do the trick, please let me know.

Best regards,
Brad
