Home/Away Assist keeps malfunctioning when I am away and my partner is still home

Although I have her accredited in the Home/Away Assist page in 'What decides if you're home' it regularly fails to act upon that information. I go into that page myself and the word 'No' is behind both my name and my partner's and then immediately changes to 'Yes', without input from me. Then it works again for a short while, but reverts to malfunctioning a matter of days later. What is this likely to be?
