Home/Away routines do not turn cameras on/off regardless of location change VS manual toggle in app

New issue with home/away routines. Previously this was working as intended, with my indoor cameras turning on/off accordingly based on presence sensing. This has worked for years, including after nest>google migration. This function has recently broken, seemingly out of nowhere. Location detection is hit or miss, but even when it works the cameras do not turn on/off. Even when I toggle my home away status in either the nest app or the google home app, this STILL does not turn the cameras on/off. I have tried disabling and recreating the routines in both google home as well as nest apps, as well as reinstalling both apps. I have rebooted wifi and cameras. Nothing has made any difference.

Only had my cameras for a few weeks but also noticed that it screws up more often than not. I think also that my doorbell stops recording events because of it... I'll just keep my settings on home and turn on the indoor camera manually from now on I guess

Hi, I tried the troubleshooting steps that I outlined in my initial post above.

-Disabled and recreated the routines in both google home as well as nest apps.

-Uninstalled and re-installed both apps.

-Rebooted wifi and cameras.

 

This initially did nothing. But for the last couple days the problem has, I guess, improved? In that now if I toggle the home/away status manually it works. But when the home/away status is triggered by location the camera status does not change.

To be honest - you didn't really solve or answer anything 😂

Welcome to Nest 😂. My experience over 3+ years has been that something is always broken and your best hope is that the problem randomly goes away on its own.

To clarify, when you say that you've disabled and recreated the routines, are you saying that you've deleted or removed the routines and made them again to see if that works? 
I'm happy to send this information over to our engineering team, but I just want to get some more information before I do.

Thanks for following up. Yes that is what I meant. Although more specifically, I removed all actions from the routines (since neither app will allow you to actually delete the home/away routines entirely), saved, and then added the actions back in and saved the routines again.
