Home and Away not working

I’ve just bought a Nest 2nd gen. wired camera and I have set up the Home and Away routines but it isn’t turning the camera on or off when I use the voice commands. Any tips?

Hey there,


Thank you for bringing up the concern you're experiencing, I would love to look into this further for you. The first troubleshooting step that I'd recommend would be to restart your device. This process should keep all your settings, and reconnect it to the same Wi-Fi network. This is helpful if it ever freezes, has connection problems, or isn't working normally.

I’ve worked out what’s wrong. You can’t turn the camera(s) on/off with your voice. I didn’t realise. I’d quite like to be able to turn it off as part of a routine when Google knows it is me.

That is definitely the case. You are not able to turn it off using Google assistant, so it is a manual process. Please let me know if you need further assistance.
