Competitor cameras have the option to create privacy zones; a useful feature in the UK and EU where GDPR exists. Does Google have any plans to provide this type of functionality in the near future? Use cases would be where you wanted to restrict the recorded area to just your garden and block out pavements and neighbours.

I feel this would be a valuable enhancement and may prevent users that have to satisfy neighbour privacy concerns from moving to other platforms.

Given it was in the press today that someone with a Ring doorbell was taken to court and ordered to pay £100,000 for breaching some of these rules, it would be certainly beneficial to allow privacy zones to be set on the image.  I currently have my camera set up in a way so it doesn't record me neighbour's garden, but that means the infra-red night light illuminates the wall in the image so much you can barely see the garden at night.  Being able to angle the camera away and create a privacy zone would be ideal and make me feel much happier about not falling foul of any GDPR rules.

I didn't know that this thread had been migrated... Still seems that there has been no response from Google on this.  I obviously share your concerns in relation to GDPR and feel a that Google should really be looking at a solution for this.
