By "always connected to the wall" do you mean your cameras are plugged in with the optional power cables that Google Nest sells? We've had a battery camera plugged in with the optional power cable for over 2 years, and its on and "Live" at all times and records 24/7.
If your cameras are plugged in, were they plugged in during the install process so that the cameras recognize that they are plugged in? If we go to Settings | Battery for our camera, it says "Plugged in" with an infinity symbol.
If your cameras are NOT plugged in, then they should be in "Idle" mode except when they detect and record and event, or when you are viewing them in the Google Home app.
Our battery camera is not very good at detecting events at night.

Tnx!
I have the infinity symbol. The cameras were plugged in during installation stage...

Hi folks,
@DS1985, thanks for reaching out here in the Community. How's it going? Were you able to test again if it's on and Live at all times when it's plugged in with its own cable? Let us know your update here.
I appreciate the help, MplsCustomer.

Emerson

Hii Emerson,
Still no change...my cameras always plug with its own cable. Let me explain the problem once again...
I have 6 cameras and subscription to nest aware plus. I want that the cameras will be on all the time, but send a notification on events only when I'm away and in the nights...
I also noticed that once I turn on the cameras on and the status change from "away" to "home" the camera are turning off...
Do u understand my question?

Hello DS1985,
The behaviour of your Nest Cameras are as expected when you're using the Home and Away assist feature. When you want your Nest Camera to stay on all the time but only notify you when you're away and at night automatically, that feature is not available. If you don't want to receive the notifications when you're at home, you may disable it manually in the settings and turn it back on at night.
Best,
Emerson

If you go into the Google Home app, select the camera. Hit the 3 dots in the upper right corner and go to settings. Now select Notifications. From there you can select the Away-only notifications to only get notifications when your presence is detected as away, or unselect it to always get notifications. You can also modify what you get notifications for in this area.
