Live Video Unavailable. The camera may be unreachable or saving battery.

Hello,

I just installed a Nest Doorbell (wired Gen 2).  Following the instructions was simple and was able to properly wire and mount the doorbell.  Then when starting up the door bell, there was a blue light.  I followed the instructions on the app fro setup.  The screen where it says "you should now see live video", there was no video.  The Green light on the doorbell was pulsing.  I continued through the setup and not in the app it says "Live video unavailable. The camera may be unreachable or saving battery."

I have tried to factory reset the doorbell and start over - nothing.

I tried a different wifi network and moving the router closer to the doorbell - nothing.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

please perform an internet speed test where the doorbell is located, it needs at least 3 mbps to work properly, you can check this article out for the internet requirements: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9245832?hl=en&sjid=13154829657897768933-NA

Hello folks,

Thanks for reaching out here in the Community. To know more about this issue, I’d like to confirm, what is the light status of your Nest Doorbell now? How did you reset it to the factory default? The Nest Doorbell (wired, 2nd gen) has higher power requirements than most doorbells. You need a transformer that is rated for 16-24 V AC, 10-40 VA to provide enough power to your doorbell. If you've already installed your doorbell and you see a blinking yellow light on the front, your doorbell isn't receiving enough power.

I appreciate the help, tsebastian.

Regards,

Emerson

I'm having this same issue and my unit is getting enough power.  Light is green as intended.  Transformer meets specs.  What are the next steps to determine why I cannot receive live video?

Hello MCL-TX,

I appreciate you posting your issue here. To confirm, how far is it from your Wi-Fi router? Which Nest Camera do you have? Do you have an active Nest Aware subscription? Try restarting your Nest Camera and Wi-Fi router.

Let us know how it goes.

Best,

Emerson
