Lost magnet(s) for Nest Camera

ajaywil

I recently moved and misplaced the magnets to mount my nest cameras at my new home.  I looked everywhere and unable to find anywhere online to replace the magnets.

Is there anyone that has found a solution to this issue or has been able to get Google to assist with replacement mounting parts?  Without the magnets, it is impossible to use the cameras.  Thanks!

Sadly, you can only try to get replacements if the camera is still under warranty.  See this similar post from today:

Hey ajaywil,

I'm dropping by to ensure that everything is covered here. I hope that sheds some light on the issue.

I appreciate the help, MplsCustomer.

Thanks,

Appreciate the follow-up.  I think I understand correctly.  If you misplace and damage the little mounting magnet, your Nest camera is basically useless.  Is that correct?  In my case that is $300 down the drain since I need two magnet replacements.

Hi there,

There is a simple solution. Amazon sells silicone boots for the outdoor cam.  Also small powerful magnets.  Put a magnet in the bottom of the boot and then slide it on the camera. It will do a good job of holding the camera in place.  Search on Google for Nest Outdoor Camera Boot.  A $13 solution that saved me $750 in replacement cameras.
