Migrating a failing 1st gen Nest Hello doorbell to a refurbished 1st gen Nest Hello doorbell...

I currently have a Nest Hello (1st gen) doorbell camera that is failing and am looking to replace it. I am wondering if I can purchase another Nest Hello (1st gen) off of eBay or Amazon and just simply swap it in for the one I'm currently using?

Main questions are really around the Nest Aware subscription and whether the new unit will continue to perform as the old one currently does? To clarify, I have a new Nest Aware subscription that is one price for all the cameras in the home. In my home I have the Nest Hello doorbell camera as well as a newer Nest Cam (battery) bought at the end of 2022.  I also have two Nest Thermostats.

I used to operate everything out of the Nest app (iOS), but with the addition of the Nest Cam (battery), I was forced to download/use the Google Home app. The only time I really engage the Google Home app is when/if I need to view the live stream or history on the Nest Cam (battery).

Preference would be to swap out the old Nest Hello doorbell for another of the same model (likely refurbished) and load it onto my Nest app. Will I lose my Nest Aware for that device? What am I missing, if anything?

Hello,  Yes, you can buy a new or used NEST HELLO and everything will work.  As long as you 'add it' to the same 'home' as your nest aware subscription then it will be included.   The  nest aware covers all the cameras in your 'home' and it works for the both the NEST app and Google Home app. 

Keep in mind you are not "migrating" it like you worked it in your question.  When you get the new nest Hello camera you will go thru all the same set-up procedures to add it to the Nest App.  For many people they have a HELLO came at their front and back doors.

Once the new one is up and running you can go into the nest app and "remove" the old doorbell from the system and discard it as you see fit.
