I hadn't intended my very first post to be a mini-rant, but as a newcomer to the Nest ecosystem -- and mostly loving it so far -- I felt smacked in the face by a few key "omissions" on Google's part with regard to Doorbell behavior.
To wit:
All this means my senior parent IMMEDIATELY requested that the doorbell STOP MAKING ANY NOISE because they have no control over how loud it will sound -- e.g. while/after listening to music on volume 8, having the Announcements come at the same loud volume out of the blue is unsettling. And I agree with them!!
Finally, having just joined this Nest Community (thanks for being here!), I must say it's rather disingenuous that questions -- such as this one -- seem to be getting marked as "Solved" by well-intentioned moderators whose only contribution is to say, "Gee, sorry, you're right. That is a completely missing feature. I'll close this thread now."
Nest products kick ass IMHO, and certainly are an improvement over Ring competitors. Yet the latter have completely customizable location/volume/time of day controls per doorbell. Nest needs to step up here and fast.
