Nest 2nd Gen Doorbell (wired) - only lasts 3 years

I purchased the Nest Doorbell Gen1 (wired) in 2018. The doorbell broke in 2021. I then bought a Gen2 (wired), which just died. Both units have the same symptoms —the doorbell button stops working. This is quite frustrating. I'm considering replacing it with another non-Google unit that supports Google Home. Andy recommendations?
