Nest Cam IQ Outdoor not working anymore

Koolzaad

Hello,

I have had the Nest Cam IQ outdoor for a couple of years now. It stopped working about 2 weeks ago. I have taken it off the wall and connected it to another power supply in the house, but there is no lights showing on the camera. Tried a factory reset and that hasn’t worked.

Please advice me how to proceed.

Regards, K

Hello K,

I’m sorry to hear that you’re having trouble with the Nest camera. Thanks for reaching out to the Community and sharing the steps you’ve taken to fix the issue. Let’s check it out.

A few questions: are you using the USB cable and adapter that shipped with the camera? Is the end of the cable with the rubber ring plugged into the camera? Is the logo on the USB connector visible on the back of the camera? Are there any kinks or frays in the cable? Also, is the cable fully and securely plugged into both the camera and the adapter?

Let’s try the troubleshooting steps below:

  1. Inspect the cable for damages.
  2. Remove, then reinsert, the cable connected to the camera and wiggle it. Watch the LED light for any changes. If the LED light blinks or the camera power cycles, remove the USB cable from the power adapter. Wait for five seconds, then plug it back in.
  3. Wait five seconds; if the camera still does not turn on or if the LED light continues to blink randomly when the connection is wiggled, test with a different USB cable.
  4. If there isn’t an alternate cable, check the USB cable to see if it fits snugly into the port of the camera. Make sure that the camera port, power cable, and adapter are securely connected.

Let me know how it goes.

Best,

Lance
