Nest Cam Outdoor cable UV damage

Hi,

My Nest Camera has been flaky with connectivity lately. At first I thought it was my wifi setup, but no other devices were having an issue. I went to inspect the electrical connections and noticed that the cable coming from the camera itself has degraded and flaked off over time, exposing the red and black power wires. The USB transformer mounted to the side of my house is still working, so my only thought is that the weathering of the cable is causing intermittent power delivery issues.

 

I shouldn't have this kind of damage to a product that is rated for outdoor use.
