Nest Cam Outdoor or Indoor / Battery

Just received this new camera.  Have no zero luck setting it up.

To begin, when using QR code to scan within the Nest App, it sends me to Google Home.  You guessed it, when using Google Home it sends me to Nest, that's a fun time loop.

When skipping the QR code and manually entering the info, the message below appears.  My issue is the last 4 digits of the serial number never appear.

I have done the following, airplane mode with wifi on.  I've also kept it in normal mode, wifi on, cell data off.

Close out the Nest App and restart.

Shut off the phone and restart.

Plug and unplug the camera (the camera is flashing blue every attempt)

Attempted within 16 inches of the wifi router.

All other Nest products, Thermostat & Doorbell are on line.  Google Display is on line.

Appreciate your guidance.

First, I know the new Nest Cams only work in the Google Home App, so forget the Nest App. When adding the device in Google Home, you are adding the device , a Google Device and you are picking camera, and then... You are picking the right camera? The Nest Battery, or wired? I know that I just got a newer version of the Google Home App, and the Nest Cam Floodlight started showing up. Maybe you need to update the app?

Unfortunately when in the Google Home App, selecting +, set up a device, new devices, choosing the location, it does not find a new device, so when I select Camera, it tells me to go to the Nest app.

Google Home updated their app a few days ago allowing for this new device to show up and set up through the app.  Who knows if they knew it was an issue or they are monitoring these boards!  Lol, Big Brother is Watching.

Hey, sabaldwin79.

Thanks for coming back and letting us know that the update cleared up your issue. We do read these boards and pass the info here up the line to our internal teams! Actually when our community members report issues here it really helps us to iron out bugs in the devices or the apps we use, so thanks for letting us know what ended up being the fix for you.

As we have our answer here, I'm going to go ahead and close up the thread, but if you need anything else or have any issues down the line, feel free to start up a new discussion.

Thanks!
