Nest Cam Outdoor wall Mounting?

Mwdave1

Hi can anyone help me?  I currently have two older generation Nest Cam Outdoor IQ cameras hard wired and secured via OEM mounting brackets.  The wire cable connects to the back of the Nest Cam and goes into the wall thus a clean installation and mount with no wires showing.  However, recently my Nest Cams have crapped out and malfunctioned and i am thinking of getting newer model Nest Cam Outdoor but i see that the hardwired cable runs forward not backwards like older Nest Cam model.  Is it possible to thread the cable through the sides of mounting bracket into the wall and thus have a cleaner install or do i need to drill a hole in the wall from the outside?  Id like to stay with Nest since i already have entire line Nest products.  Are there any other manufacturer cameras that run wite from behind the camera like old Nest Cam Outdoor IQ?  Please help!

Hello Mwdave1,

Thanks for posting here in the community. I understand your concern about having a clean installation of your Nest Camera wires. However, the design of new models of Nest Cameras are as they are, and we appreciate your ideas and thoughts with regards to clean installation. We're always looking for ways to improve and we'll take it as feedback. I'd suggest you send feedback about your concern using this form to let the Google Engineering team know about your concern. While they won't respond directly back to you, this is the best way to let them know about this. Please let me know if you have other questions or concerns as I will be locking this after 24 hours. Feel free to start a new thread and we'll be happy to help.

Best,
Emerson
