Nest Cam with Floodlight - shows on one Google Home App, but not on other?

Hi, weird one here.... (aren't they all! LOL).

I got myself a Nest Cam with Floodlight for my front garden, as car thefts are increasing in my area.  Managed to get it linked to GH (once I realised you don't use the Nest App now - although it did ask me if I had migrated my Nest Account during setup), and all seemed nice and smooth.

From the Google Home app on my Android phone I can see streams live, video snapshots etc.  However from Google Home running on Android Subsystem for Windows (ASW) the live stream is offline (see both screenshots attached - one showing phone and one ASW).

It cannot be ASW as my Nest doorbell that is available on both the Nest and GH Apps works fine on both instances of GH... it's just this new 'GH Only' cam that's having issues on ASW.

Anyone have any idea?  It also won't stream to my Lenovo Smart Clock, and again the doorbell does!

Hi AdamE,

Thanks for reaching out here in the Community. To know more about this issue, I’d like to confirm, how far is your Nest Camera from your Wi-Fi router? What troubleshooting steps have you done so far? Kindly perform a simple restart to your Wi-Fi router and Nest Cameras and let us know how it goes.

Regards,

Emerson

Hi Emerson,

The camera connects to the router WiFi just fine - it's about 12 feet from it!

The image from the floodlight cam can be streamed to every hub (Max and 7"), my Android phone, my partners iPhone etc.  It's just not streaming to Google Home on my PC running Windows Subsystem for Android (shows unavailable on the GH App on WSA), or my Lenovo Smart Clock (says 'doesn't support streaming' on the Lenovo Smart Clock) - both of which stream my Nest Hello Doorbell (wired) just fine.  It's just the 'Google Home only' new nest cam on the Floodlight they won't stream.

Hopefully this is just a glitch as the camera on the doorbell that is connected via the Nest App and GH App works fine.

Hello AdamE,

Thanks for sharing the steps you did. Please try viewing your Nest Camera using your Google Chrome web browser and sign in your same email address at https://goo.gle/2UZL8VI. Make sure it's in the latest version. Let us know your update here.

Best,

Emerson

Hi EmersonB,

It works fine on Google Home on Chrome too on my PC....

It is just the Google Home APP (running on Windows Subsystem for Android on my PC - based on Android 13) on my PC and my Lenovo smart clock (Home Hub clone), that says camera unavailable.

Hey AdamE,

I appreciate your effort in trying to make it work using your Windows subsystem for Android; however, it's not recommended to use it for your Google Nest devices as its stability is not guaranteed. It's still best to use Google Home app and Google Home for web.

As for your other concern, I would recommend reaching out to Lenovo's support to check your device's compatibility to stream with their smart clock.

Regards,

Emerson
