@Joseph3

Do you have a Google Nest Camera (Battery)? We've had one since Sept. 2021, mounted on its magnetic base and plugged in with the optional power cable, and the battery stays charged all the time. It should show as "Live" all the time when viewed in the Google Home app.

Yes this is Google Nest Camera Battery

show 30% of battery when I plugged in the original cable for camera didn’t change as I removed from the base start changing

don’t know what to do or how should be done

I'm just another customer sharing that our Google Nest Camera (Battery) remains charged while mounted on its magnetic base when plugged in with the optional power cable. I would think the camera should also be able to charge while mounted on its magnetic base using the short charging cord that comes with the camera, but I've seen several posts in this forum where customers have reported various issues charging their new battery camera. I don't know whether there's a defect with some cameras or with the enclosed charging cord. You could try contacting Google Nest Support, though some customers have expressed frustration with Support in addressing their problem. (When I've tried the Chat support function over the last 2 days, the Chat session simply fails to connect.)

The Support link is: https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp

(Be sure to plug the charging cord in so that the cord feeds towards the FRONT of the camera.)

I recently installed the nest battery camera. I need to charge it now but it won't charge in place. It sits under my eaves so I need a ladder to access it. Do I have to remove it to charge it? Anyone?

@Jsk

Our Google Nest Camera (Battery) plugged in all the time with the optional power cable has stayed charged since we installed it in Sept. 2021.  So it SEEMS that if the short charging cord included with the camera works correctly and is connected with the charging cord feeding towards the FRONT of the camera, it SHOULD charge without removing it.

However, this Google Nest Help page (link below) says "If you didn’t install your camera with a power cable, you’ll need to remove it periodically to charge the battery." I don't know whether the included short charging cord actually works differently than the optional power cable and won't charge when the camera is mounted or whether Google Nest just thinks it's impractical to connect the short charging cord while the camera is still mounted.  (I've tried to find specs on the optional power cable vs. the included short charging cord, but could not find any.)  The whole thing is baffling.  Who wants to unmount an external camera (likely mounted up high) just to charge it?  Maybe you could try contacting Google Nest Support (at: https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp?hl=en) to see if they can give you a definite answer.
