Nest Cams Detecting Cars and other objects as "People"

SupraDriftTV

About a week or two ago I noticed that my camera sent me an update that there was a "person" in my driveway, as this was late at night and concerning I checked the cam, only to see the moon. As time went on I got more and more false alerts for a "person" but it seemed that every car that drove by the camera was detecting a "person". I'm not going to move the cameras as I need them to see my driveway/the street as we have had break-ins and I want to monitor traffic for suspicious cars. It's just odd that every thread I see on this has been locked without being resolved and this problem has been around since at least 2018. It's nothing to do with the push notifications themselves and they aren't bothersome, I just want my camera to be able to tell a person from a car.

Can anyone answer this? Maybe someone from Google has a fix?

Hi there,

Sorry for my late response. Thank you for all of your patience while waiting for a reply. I just wanted to make sure that your issue is addressed. I can definitely understand how frustrating your situation must be. I would love to help you find a solution to this issue.

- Unfortunately this is a known issue, and most of the time you will want to check out your settings and lower the sensitivity on those settings.

- What troubleshooting steps have you done besides what you have stated you've done?

Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Best Regards,

Brad.
