Hello!
My doorbell is showing a solid green light all the time, no matter what is on or off, like seeing people, animals and so on. Once I disable all motion detection options it is still green. Only turning off cam completely makes it disappear. Once I preview the camera picture, the green light flashes, then going back to solid green. Any ideas why it happens? Maybe it's normal state that it is all the time solid green? I turned on this doorbell today for the first time - I would say it worked in a different way at the very beginning, the light was disappearing. I did try to reset the device, readd it, changing home etc. nothing helps. Many thanks for any ideas what to do.

That's perfectly normal.
A solid green status light indicates "Your Nest doorbell is turned on, connected to Wi-Fi network, and is processing images in its view. our doorbell could be recording activity and saving it to the cloud, or it could be using local storage to record and save video if it's offline."

All of our Google Nest cameras and doorbells have a solid green status light unless someone is watching the video, in which case the green light pluses.
This has been true since 2019, when Google Nest removed the ability to turn off the green status light as a "commitment to privacy" to provide a "clear visual indicator when your Nest cameras are on and sending video and audio to Nest."

Thanks but are you sure? I have a nest doorbell battery and the green light turns off once the device is not monitoring or not seeing motion. The same is written on Google nest doorbell help page: Status light is off - This can be caused by one of the following reasons:
Your doorbell is idle and not detecting activity, streaming video or recording video.
So I guess something is not working as it should 😞 what is more the doorbell is getting warm - not hot but still a bit of warm is present.

Our battery camera is plugged in all the time, and we don't have a battery doorbell, so I don't have any personal experience with what the status light does when a camera or doorbell is running on battery power and is therefore in "Idle" mode unless it detects something or is being viewed.
The green status light is always on for all of our Google Nest cameras and doorbells (which are all wired) unless we turn them off or the power goes offline. And all of them are always a little warm.

Thank you for the replies! So it seems that the solid green light is a right thing and nothing is wrong with that 🙂 I was comparing it to the battery one - where the green light disappears after some time of being "inactive". Maybe the wired one stays with green on all the time 🙂 thnx!!!!!
