Pleased to report that the latest update to Google Home (Version 2.50.1.7) has resolved the talk and listen problem on my Nest Doorbell Battery and all 3 of my Nest Cam Battery units.  The volume could be louder but visitors can now hear me talk when I use Google Home on my Samsung S21.  Thanks to all the members who contributed to this thread and the numerous other threads about this problem.  I would like to think it pushed Google to issue the necessary fix after several years of them ignoring the problem.

So, I called support and they talked me through a factory reset. (I only bought the doorbell yesterday and when it didn't work I already did a factory reset)

This time it worked. Apparently due to it having not downloaded the latest update.

I'm not sure whether they actually did something in the background.

Anyway, worth the call. Its working perfectly now. Remove the device from your Google home app and then do the reset. (pin in the reset button next to charge port for 12+ seconds)

Then re install on home app.

Hi folks,

I appreciate you sharing this @jimbobthebear. Glad to hear it's working now. Do you still need further assistance with this? Otherwise we can consider this as resolved, and I will lock the thread.

Hi there,

Just checking in to see if you still need assistance with this issue. Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Best Regards,

Brad.

Please don't lock the thread. Turns out I was mistaken.  I was incorrect and the problem is not resolved.  Adjusting the volume of the camera in the Home App Audio settings, for example lower then to back high, results in talk and listen working correctly at that time.  But only for 1 instance.  When you stop live video then return to it and try talk and listen again the volume problem is the same as it was before, far too low for anyone to hear it.  Please advise Google the software defect is NOT fixed for Samsung phones.

Hi folks,

Sorry for the delay. Are we still experiencing this? Is this happening to multiple phones? What steps have you tried?

Best,
Steve

Hi divadyasdnil, you seem to be THE MOST versed at holding Google to account for owning and fixing this issue for ALL Samsung users.  It seems they have marked your mistaken post as as a fix here!  Has anyone from Google ever provided any hint of understanding, owning and committing to fix this bloody anoyying issue?

Cheers.

Tested today 18 June 2022 and Talk & Listen on my doorbell and all cameras seems to function ok with my Samsung S21 on WiFi or Cellular.  Previously, Talk & Listen would function ok the first time but then went quiet if you turned off the microphone then tried a second time.  Going into 'settings' then 'audio' seemed to reset it but the problem would repeat so that wasnt a fix.  That bug now appears to be fixed also.  Will continue to test and report any change.  Google Home app version I am using is 2.53.1.5.  Android version 12.  One UI version 4.1.
