I recently bought a Nest Doorbell (batterry) since the fact that I could wire it to my existing chime was kind appealing.
The problem is: It doesn't work. When I wire the two cables of the old doorbell to the new one I got three problems:
1. The Doorbell is still recognized as running on battery and not as wired.
2. My chime won't stop ringing.
3. Also the "electronic chime" option within the app are greyed out. So it doesn't seem to realize that it is connected at all.
I have an elictronical chime and my transformer is compatible - at least it looks like it. But it just won't work.
Anyone with any ideas how this could be fixed?
Also: I'm living in Germany. Don't know if this is important or not.
Thanks for visiting the Community. My apologies for the late response here. Got it, thanks for sharing your setup and I appreciate your efforts. Let's get this sorted — a few questions:
Try the steps here:
Let me know how it goes.
Isn't the Chime Connector (highlighted in your reply) ONLY for the Google Nest Hello Doorbell, and NOT for this customer's Google Nest Doorbell (Battery)?
Does the fact that this customer lives in Germany, with a different electrical system, affect how the Google Nest Doorbell (Battery) works?
I appreciate your feedback, we use this as a standard wiring diagram for indoor chime and users can definitely use a Nest mini speaker and Nest Hub display if their Nest Doorbell (battery) isn't compatible with their current chime.
I hope this answers your question.
