I have a nest doorbell (battery). I also have a google home mini. Both are set up in the google home app, and the doorbell works in every way except the most important-- I can't get it to ring on my home mini. I've read through many forum questions about this, and have followed all the basics. I'm hoping there is a solution that doesn't involve factory resets and app deletions. Please advise.

Do you have Visitor Announcements (Voice Notifications) turned on for your doorbell?

Yes, and both devices are on my Home app and otherwise properly working.

Hey folks,
@jniemczura, thanks for reaching out here in the Community. To make it work, you need to make sure that your Nest Home mini and Nest Doorbell are under one home structure, they are connected to the same Wi-Fi network, under one account and the Visitor Announcements is enabled.
To turn on Visitor Announcements:
I appreciate the help, MplsCustomer.

Is "Do Not Disturb" turned off on your Nest Mini?
And yes, your Nest Mini and your doorbell need to be in the same Google Nest "home/structure" on the same Wi-Fi network.

Thank you. Yes, do not disturb is off, and they are in the same home structure and on the same wifi network.

If your Nest Mini is in the same Google Nest "home/structure" in the Google Home app as your doorbell, it should work. It just worked for the customer on this post:
You could try a simple reboot of your Nest Mini by unplugging it for a minute, or by selecting "Reboot" in the Google Home app.
You could also try deleting and reinstalling the Google Home app. You don't lose any settings when doing so; you just log back in with the same username and password.

Hello jniemczura,
In case you've already tried restarting your Nest devices and still getting the same issue, we would recommend you to reset it to the factory default and try it again.
To reset:
1. Locate the reset pinhole on the back of your Nest Doorbell.
Tip: The reset pin on your Nest Doorbell (battery) is located below the USB port on the back of the doorbell.
2. Insert and hold the pin (you can use an unfolded paperclip or a thumbtack):
3. Release the button. Your Nest Doorbell will restore to its factory settings.
4. After the factory reset, your Nest Doorbell will appear as “Offline” in the app until you remove it.
5. To remove it from the app, open the app, then tap Settings Remove device Confirm.
Looking forward to your response.
Best,
Emerson
