Nest Doorbell Google Home

Hello members.

we have a nest doorbell that runs on Google home, 2nd gen wired.

we had it for almost two years and has worked great UNTIL since last night it stops working:

on the Google home it says “plugged in” but no battery! What gives? 
can anyone help?
