I need some help. I have a Nest Doorbell that was purchased and installed back in mid 2020. I started noticing that the clearcoat is peeling by the “ring”button. Not sure why, but I am just worried that the peeling is going to travel and affect the camera located on the top portion of the doorbell.
I contacted Google support earlier and basically they were unable to help. They told me my warranty has been expired since June 2021. If I wanted any assistance, I would have to purchase a brand new doorbell. I asked what if the new doorbell peels again? The representative responded. “Just call us back before the one year warranty mark and we will get you a new one.” I find that response a little off putting. So I have to keep calling back every year for a replacement? That just shows how great these products are made.
I don’t understand why Google would not stand behind their product? Obviously, it’s something with the quality control and the product itself. This product has been mounted less than a year and seven months and it is already deteriorating. Others on this forum have complained about the peeling.
Can someone please help? Is there a way to remove the clearcoat without damaging the camera? Or is there someone I can call or talk to that can help with a replacement? Thank you very much for your time!

There are hundreds of threads in this forum about peeling Nest Hello doorbells. One of ours did when it was almost 2 years old, so we bought a silicone skin on Amazon to cover the peeling shards.
