Similar to seemingly hundreds of other posters, my battery doorbell stopped latching. There seems to be a design defect with the pin and they eventually fail. No-one else seems to have a solution outside of replacing the whole unit. Mine is a couple months out of warranty and Google told me to take a hike rather than standing behind the product. It's disappointing but I have dozens of google smarthome thingies that work well so I suppose it is cost of doing business.
Anyway. I drilled a screw directly on the top until the screwhead is holding the doorbell down on the mount. I should get at least a few more years like this until I need to do something else. Not great, but what am i going to do?
