Nest Doorbell (Wired Gen 2) and Mechanical Chime

JJR9

Just had our electrician install our 2nd Gen wired doorbell, connected to our existing mechanical chime. Power and wiring seem to be fine, we see the video on our App, but when the doorbell is rung the mechanical plunger goes down slowly and makes a very light, quiet chime. We have tried playing with electric vs mechanical chimes and that hasn’t resolved it. I have read that a faulty chime puck could be to blame. Any thoughts?  Thanks!

@JJR9

I've seen posts from some customers who have had a defective "chime puck".

Another cause could be an inadequate transformer. Did your electrician check whether your transformer meets Google Nest requirements?
