Nest Doorbell Wired Gen2 Won’t Secure

Hi 

I am having trouble getting the hex screw to catch so that the doorbell is secured. This is the second one I’ve installed on our property. The first one had no issues. The second will not catch. I’ve replaced it and still the alignment is off slightly to where the security hex screw will not catch. Please help.

You might have to resort to contacting Google Nest Support (https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp) for a replacement for your doorbell.

Hello everybody,

@Nesty4theresty, thanks for reaching out. If possible, could you send us the screenshot of the actual hex screw and the nut inside? The one that would catch the thread of the hex screw. Looking forward to your response.

Absolutely! You can upload the picture here. 

 

Here's how:

 

  1. Hit “Reply”.
  2. Click “Insert Photos” (camera icon on the upper left hand side).
  3. Click “Choose Files”.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions.
  5. Also, you can tap the "Drag and Drop" option. Maximum attachment is 5 MB.

I do not have that icon and when I tried to drag pictures it says I do not have permission to upload pictures. How do I get permission?

You need to log onto the forum before clicking on Reply to get the icon and have permission.  You can logon by clicking on the blue person icon in the upper right corner of the screen.
