Nest Doorbell (battery) Recording

Hi, in regards to the free 3 hour recording of video available in the Doorbell (battery). Does this mean each video recording is kept for 3 hours or can you accumulate up to 3 hours of recordings? Each recoding is set at 30 seconds so I would of assumed it would keep some few hundred snippets of video but looks like the 3 hours is from when it starts recording and then removes it. Is this correct or am I missing something?

Your last line is correct. The camera keeps three hours of the latest video history. It doesn’t matter for specific events; it’s overall video history. After three hours, the oldest video history begins to delete as new history is recorded.

@Rubes

Does the video history not upload to the cloud?

Yea technically it’s all in the cloud. But only for three hours. Then the oldest stuff gets wiped.

With the paid subscription, it’s a completely different story.
