Nest Doorbell (battery)

I am considering purchasing the nest doorbell however existing doorbell is only 3 feet from ground. Will it work at this height? Although it is battery version I prefer to use wired and will be unable to extend wires to suggested 4 feet height

Three feet is a bit low. The recommended height is 4 feet. There is no reason it won't function though. However, when someone is standing close to your door or the doorbell you may not see their face or head. You might also consider a custom "shim" using a washer at the bottom to point it up if it's aim is too low. It also comes with some rubbery spacers that you may be able to use to adjust the aim.
