Honestly had a terrible experience with my nest doorbell and google customer support and will no longer be purchasing any google nest products. My nest doorbell was 3 years old and it kept disconnecting from the network even after multiple attempts troubleshooting and resetting it. I finally got ahold of the customer support chat bot and they had me factory reset the device. Since the QR code on the back had rubbed off, I had no way to reconnect my device to my account. I had already paid $60 a month ago for an annual nest aware subscription which is now useless because my device was basically deemed unusable. Since my device was out of warranty, they would not send me a replacement nor give me a discount on a new device. In summary, if you're purchasing a nest doorbell, just know it will only last you 2-3 years and you can expect zero support from google for any troubleshooting. I will be moving on to a different company as I live alone and am on a budget and cannot afford to purchase a brand new doorbell from google every 3 years, nor pay for the steep nest aware subscription.

It's unfortunate that Google Nest requires use of codes that can rub off of their cameras and doorbells.
Has the 6-character Setup Code also rubbed off of the back of your doorbell? If that code is still legible, you can select the "install without scanning" option and try to reinstall using the 6-character Setup Code.

Yes unfortunately that had rubbed off as well. Thanks for trying to help though!
