After reading through various posts, it appears that the laminate peeling to the plastic faceplate of the Nest Hello is a common problem. At one point it appears Google / Nest was replacing the units regardless of warranty status, but this is no longer the case. Research also reveals that the plastic faceplate is primarlily cosmetic in nature and easily replaceable. (See iFixit) It is just a piece of plastic. Is Google at least offering to send people the part?
