Nest Hello wired doorbell ring not playing through home devices

Just set up a hello wired doorbell.  We don't have a doorbell chime so was hoping it would play through our displays and home minis, but it does not ring through any of them.  I set up announcements, checked to make sure they were all in the same home.  For such a big company, they cant seem to make a decent app.  Reading other solutions of removing all devices and starting over seems ridiculous.

@ismelllikepoop

You've turned on "Visitor announcements" in your Nest Hello Settings, as described on the Google Nest Help page below, your Nest Hubs and Minis are NOT set to "Do Not Disturb", all your Nest Hubs and Nest Minis are in the same Google Nest "home", your Nest Hello is online, you're getting push notifications on your phone(s), and you're STILL not getting announcements?

(Just trying to verify everything I know that could affect this. Our Nest Hellos send announcements to all our our Nest Hubs and Minis.)

Everything was set up normally.  Randomly it decided to start working a few hours later.  Good ole nest products deciding when and when not to work.

Yeah, sometimes changes like this take awhile to become effective.  Maybe there's a lag sometimes in updating Google Nest's servers.

Hey folks,

Doorbell chime tones and visitor announcements on the Google Home device may be delayed compared to a wired chime. This is because, unlike a regular, wired, indoor chime, the Google Home device operates over Wi-Fi.

I appreciate the help, MplsCustomer.

Thanks,

Archie

This was not a matter of a delay, it was not alerting at all.  It decided to start working on its own a few hours later without any changes in settings, seemed kind of odd.

Another topic I have is, is there a solution to re-add a thermostat to the original home?  It stopped showing up, and the solution was to create another "home". Re-adding it to the original home did not work, seems like a lousy solution to have another "home" just to control one thermostat

I was referring to a delay in getting the "Visitor announcements" setting updated on Google Nest's servers; it seems that is what happened.

You should be able to re-add your thermostat to your original "home" rather than adding it to a new "home". It depends on the specifics of the sequence of events from "it stopped showing up" to "re-adding it to the original home did not work".

Hey folks,

@ismelllikepoop About the thermostat not showing up on your Google Home app, were there changes made with the setup, settings, and/or app of the thermostat? Have you tried force closing the app, then restart your phone to see if that helps? Also, reinstalling it might do the trick.

I appreciate the help, MplsCustomer.

Thanks,

Archie
