Nest Indoor Wired Cam will not normal or factory reset.

My nest indoor cam went offline suddenly and I couldn’t get it to come back on. I’ve restarted it in the home app, unplugged it for a few hours and pressed the reset button on the back for 5 seconds. Nothing seemed to work so I attempted a factory reset. The lights blinked yellow 4 times then turned a solid yellow. The light went out and came back on white with a sort of pulsing. I waited for it to turn blue but it never would. I’ve now reset it at least 5 times and deleted it from the app with the same result. Anyone know what’s going on?

Hi there,

Sorry to hear you're experiencing this, as I can imagine it has been an inconvenience. I would love to look into this further for you. It sounds like your camera did go through the Factory Reset process based off of the lights. Here is an article that goes over what the lights mean. Please let me know if you still need assistance.

Best regards,
Brad

Hello Brad,

Thanks for the reply. I reviewed the article and found that “blinking or soft pulsing white light = downloading update/software update”. Essentially that’s what I’ve been dealing with, a white pulsing light that keeps returning after reset. Note: Currently whenever I unplug and plug my camera back into the wall socket, it does play a startup chime before the white light starts pulsing. I’m still stuck, and based on the article, it seems like it’s stuck in a update loop.

@CWGComm

Have you tried to factory reset the camera? This is different from a restart. This does clear out everything, so take a look at this article for more information before you try again.

Best regards.
