Nest Outdoor Cam with Floodlight Missing QR Code

warlord
Community Member

We have two cameras and seem to have lost the QR code for one of them.

One of the cameras is setup and working the other we can't find the sticker.

Try as I might I cannot find any setup code on either camera.

Can a camera be setup without a setup code? Can a setup code be obtained by serial number? we still have the boxes.

There is a 6-character alphanumeric Setup Code on the bottom of the floodlight camera. You'll have to remove the power cable to be able to see the Setup Code. (The screen capture below exaggerates the size of the code.). See this Google Nest video for instructions, starting at about 1:12:

Thank you so much. The missing piece was to remove the power cable to see the code/serial number.

As it came connected, I never expected it to be there. Get your glasses on to read it,

@warlord

I've seen quite a few posts from other customers who also didn't realize the Setup Code was hidden by the power cable.

We've written down all of our Setup Codes so we don't need to try to decipher Setup Codes later on.  And sometimes the Setup Codes get blurred after awhile.

Hi everyone,

@warlord, thanks for reaching out here in the Community. How's it going? Were you able to setup your Nest Camera back to the Google Home app? In case you have an update, you know where to find us.

I appreciate the help, MplsCustomer.

Regards,

Emerson

Thanks for the response. I was able to find the code and managed to get it setup in the app.

But, now I'm unable to see Live video https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Cameras-and-Doorbells/Live-video-unavailable/m-p/57398#M11068

I've removed and re-added several times, reset the camera using the button, power off and on is pointless as it's a battery backed camera.

Tried two separate SSID's. Still no live video.

Worked fine for a year or so, until we had to take it down to get the house rendered.

Hello warlord,

I appreciate your update. To confirm, how far is it from your Wi-Fi router? Are there any appliances in between your Nest Doorbell and router that can interfere with the wireless signal? How was the reset done? What is the light status?

Looking forward to your response.

Best,

Emerson

Very strange. I report the live feed problem here, and it just started working.  No changes.
