Nest Outdoor Camera With Floodlights Wont Connect

bpautzke

Hello,

My three cameras i purchased and installed will not connect.  I have attempted many times with various ways, but my I phone cannot find them from my Google app.  I have indoor cameras that work, but the outdoor ones I just installed will not connect.  I was forced to move all my devices which are Nest over to a Google account, but when it attempts to go to the last function of finding other Nest devices it does not find any.

@bpautzke

Are you by any chance getting the "cannot connect to assisting device" error? If so, many other customers have encountered this. Google Nest's install process, which is designed to obtain Wi-Fi settings from another Google Nest device, often fails for some customers at this point. Some customers in this forum have had success with temporarily turning off all of their other Google Nest devices during the install process, so that the install process will instead let you manually select your Wi-Fi network.  Once the devices are installed, they turn their other devices back on.

Hey folks,

I want to make sure you're all good — how did the steps go?

Thanks for your help here, MplsCustomer and Emerson.

Regards,

JT

Hi  bpautzke,

Thanks for posting and sorry to hear that you're having this issue. Let's see our options here.

To know more about this issue, I'd like to ask some questions:

  • What is the light status of your Nest outdoor camera?
  • Are you using the same email address on both apps?
  • Have you checked if all of your Nest outdoor cameras are turned on during the set up?

Try these steps:

  • Try checking all of their light status. Because during set up, the Nest camera should have a pulsing blue light in front of it, indicating that it's ready for set up.
  • While on the pairing process, please be in front of the Nest camera.
  • Make sure that you have a solid internet connection in that part of your house.

Looking forward to your response.

Regards,
Emerson
