Nest Outdoor IQ suddenly offline

Cptalbertwesker

After 3 years of having our Outdoor IQ streaming from our front door with very few problems, suddenly yesterday it just went offline.

Rebooting the router - nothing

Power cycling the camera - nothing

I've tried resetting it but the factory reset doesn't appear to do anything, the cable is trunked up our wall, nothing has touched the wire in the whole time it's been up in use and it's on 24-hours a day. Before it went off it was working as normal no adverse weather and the camera footage itself had no obvious issues when it went offline.

When it's plugged in there's an initial blue light and nothing else. I know the Outdoor IQ's are not sold anymore but is there anything further I can do? We have another Outdoor IQ that has been fine and four Indoor with no issues, we use a Google Mesh and have no problems with signal.

Hi Cptalbertwesker,

Thanks for reaching out here in the Community and for sharing your issue with us. To confirm, how did you reset your Nest Camera to the factory default? The ring light from your Nest Camera should be a pulsing blue light, indicating that it's ready to be setup.

To reset:
        1. Make sure your Nest Camera is plugged in and powered on before continuing.

  • Tip: To help restore your settings after resetting your Nest Camera, write down or take a screenshot of your camera settings.

        2. Press and hold your Nest Camera’s reset button with the paperclip or thumbtack. When the light ring starts spinning blue, release the button. Your Nest Camera’s lights will turn off while it’s resetting.

  • Note: If you want to cancel the factory reset, release the button while the light is spinning yellow.

        3. The factory reset is complete when your Nest Camera chimes and the light ring starts slowly pulsing blue.

        4. After the factory reset, your Nest Camera will appear "Offline" in the app until you remove it.

To remove it from your app, open your Home app, then tap  Settings> Remove device> Confirm.

Looking forward to your response.

Regards,
Emerson

Hi folks,

Chiming in — could you please confirm how you reset your Nest Camera? Is it also the same steps that have been provided above? If not, please give those steps a try.

Thanks for your help, Emerson.

Best,

Jenelyn
