Nest Smart Doorbell

I want to hard wire Nest doorbell with a compatible indoor chime. I have existing wired system but will buy  new compatible chime and transformer. I like the idea of the motion sensor if it only sends notifications to a phone but I do not want the chime to ring when the sensor picks up motion. In other words I only want to chime to work with a bell push. How does the Nest Doorbell work in this regard?

Yes, it does work as you want it to.  In fact, there is no way to have the chime ring any other way than when someone pushes the button.  Did you see something that led you to believe it would ring just by having someone walk by?
