Nest app, home.nest.com, and Nest Hub streaming of older Nest cameras all unavailable

ALL Nest services for all of our older cameras and doorbells are currently unavailable in Minnesota, USA.

For at least the last half hour (since at least 9:30 am US central time):

  • Accessing the Google Nest app yields a "There is a problem connecting to the Nest service" error message.
  • Accessing the home.nest.com website yields a blank screen.
  • Trying to livestream an older Google Nest camera or doorbell on a Nest Hub yields a "Sorry, couldn't reach Nest" error.

Cameras can still be accessed on the "Preview" home.google.com website.

There are no outages listed on the status.nest.com page.

Thanks folks for sharing this and sorry for the inconvenience. Our team is aware of this issue and working on a fix. In the meantime, all migrated accounts can try the Google Home App or https://goo.gle/2UZL8VI to control and view your supported Nest devices.

SAME PROBLEM here today. No problem yesterday. No problem with web access but iOS app keeps giving error message although credentials are correct.

My Nest app (iPhone) logged me out, I cannot log back in and password reset tool not working.

 

I can log into app with Google account - it then asks me to migrate and “reset” my device which I am happy to do - however, the app then doesn’t find my thermostat and I am stuck in a vicious circle - I just want to access my old account!!!!

I am totally confused. How can I connect my old Nest account? I log in to my google account and found no subscription. So where is my old Next account? I can use the app but don't know where to log on to my account to see my account setup. My app on iphone is fine.

I'm guessing at what you're asking here: You can check your Nest Aware subscription here: https://store.google.com/subscriptions

You should also be able to see your Nest Aware subscription by going to Settings | Nest Aware in either the Google Nest app or the Google Home app.

Thanks for the responses. Sorry to hear about the trouble. I wanted to follow up and see if I could be of any help. What is the exact message that you are getting when trying to log in? Could you send us a screenshot showing it? Below are the steps on how to upload a photo or:

 

  1. Start a new post.
  2. Click Insert Image.
  3. Choose an image source location.
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions

Also, you can tap the "Drag and Drop" option. Maximum attachment is 5 MB.

I am having this same issue. I used the Nest app this morning. Tonight I can't login from phone (iPhone) or computer, and when I try to reset the password, I never get a reset email.

Thanks for posting. What is the exact message that you are getting when trying to log in? Could you send us a screenshot? Have you tried using another phone to further isolate?

Hi there, I have the same issue.

I try to log in with the same email and password I have had for 3 years and since 3 weeks ago I am not able to connect. After entering the password, and click on "Iniciar sesión" (login or similar), I receive a pop up window saying "No se ha podido iniciar sesión"

Translated message: Unable to init the session. It's possible that your email or password was incorrect. Try to do it again. If you have migrated your account o you want to create one, init session with Google.

If I try again, I receive the same message. and if I try to reset my password, I never receive the email.

Please, is there a fix for this issue?

I also have had, and STILL have issues using the Nest software. Today, it logged me out of the application and I cannot get logged back in. Once again, spending too much on the phone trying to get support ( hold times are terrible). AND , to update this problem, I just got off the phone with CS to find out that there is, indeed, a software issue they are trying to fix. Now why don't they give their customers a headsup for this type of issue ? Really, they just waste our time. Just a month ago I changed my internet service provider and tried to resync my camera to the new internet provider. Spent 2 hours on my Sat. on chat with a support person, only to find out that Nest has not updated their software to higher versions of 32 bit software, ie Mac O/S . So, I could not sync the device using my mac or even my Windows work machine, which was supposed to work. I gave up and have removed the camera. I had long since removed the Nest smoke detectors , again same issue trying to sync. Those devices were sounding alarm once the service changed. It was such a p.i.t.a. to get them down and try to address the issue. I'm back to cheap home depot smoke detectors. Never again.

Seems I now have the same problem as the many who posted before me ., can’t sign into my Nest app .. I get so far as getting a security code, and entering it but then get a message that says “something has gone wrong” and to “try again later”, as well as an email that advised me that I’ve signed into my account. Something is obviously and definitely wrong with your app .. as of this point, the app has been rendered completely useless. Any luck in fixing the problem?

I am unable to get into Nest app, it just keeps going back to the login screen over and over again. I am signing in with Google. If I type in my email it gives me an error message. I have tried resetting my password, deleting the app and reinstalling it, getting reinvited to the group, updating my phone to the latest update and nothing works. My husband’s app is working with the cameras. I am able to get in on the Google Home app but not the Nest app. I prefer the Nest app due to the notification preferences. I am about ready to give up at this point. 

I posted just the other day about literally the same thing. Husband’s works fine. I’ve done everything to possibly fix it. I’m beyond frustrated.

Yep. Entirely the same. 

I ended up spending over 2 hours on the phone with Google support and they still can’t fix the issue. Apparently they have their engineers working on the problem because they have no idea what the problem is.  I would suggest calling Google so they are aware this may be a bigger issue.

All day today i have been unable to log into the nest iphone app. It just shows the spinning circle around the house icon.

It was fine until today.

What can I do to resolve?

I have the same problem.  I cannot log into my Nest account.  It is not migrated to Google.  I try to reset the password and Google never sends the reset email.

For the love of god, can this be fixed??? What kind of product is this?
