Nest aware 1st gen was never supposed to expire

I used to have all ring doorbells but the cameras only turned on when motion was detected. There were some issues when people came onto my porch and stole items like my backpack, there have been situations where people have been on my property and remained undetected and there was issues with cars getting hit in front of my house. Because of this, I decided to get nest doorbell with Nest Aware 1st gen for my front door only so that I can go back to any time whether it detected motion or not, and this wa very useful since not all motion is picked up for any device I've used. Then Nest came out with Nest Aware gen2 which they claim would be better and cheaper subscription cost but only would get video on motion activated times. They did state that you did not have to switch to the new gen2 Nest Aware but once you cancel Nest Aware gen1 then you can't go back. I've been using gen1 up until today since I didn't plan on canceling to switch to gen2 since that would defeat the purpose of even having a nest doorbell rather than a ring doorbell. This morning I received an email stating they canceled my nest aware gen1 subscription, which I'm very upset about. There was no email leading up to this email stating it was ending soon and then I get an email saying it's cancelled. This makes me want to switch this camera back to ring since there is no difference between nest aware gen2 and ring surveillance services. Why was my gen1 cancelled without notification and what is the purpose of gen2 coming out with such a horrible plan?
