Hi Scott,

The new Nest Cam Battery and Nest Doorbell Battery will only work with the Google Home app and are not viewable in the Nest app or on the Nest Web Portal.

Within the Google Home app you can view the live streams and event history of all of your Nest cameras however, for some settings and full 24/7 video, you will still need to use the Nest app for the older cams for the time being. Google is working to bring more functionality to the Home app so you can manage everything from one place.

I hope this helps.

All the best,

I would not have bought this camera if I had known I needed two apps to view all my cameras bad move nest/google

Will this ever change? If not I’m going to return the camera I just bought and will get a camera that will fit my needs. I could understand why google would want to bring everyone over to their app but why not bring all the features of the nest app along with all older cameras

It's a shame that you sell us products and holding this information, otherwise I would never have bought it. You sell something with the productname " Nest"  but doesn't work with a product with the same name. I'll write a negative review at the sellers site(Coolbleu-NL)

is there a timeline?  I need to return what I have purchased without a firm date for that functionality

How does Google put out such a trash app. Nest app you could see all your cameras at once why doesn’t google home have this feature. Also no where did it say these cameras wouldn’t work with the Nest app. Super disappointed with the Google home app. I get that you want to get rid of the Nest app but at least make the new app better or make it at least as good as the existing app. Your Google I expected a way better resolution this.

Since the new Nest Cam Battery does not work with the Nest app, it is dishonest and fraudulent to call it a "Nest" camera.

Further, since Google says, regarding this camera, that it's committed to providing a seamless Home app experience for our customers," why can't we configure our existing Google Nest cameras and doorbells and view their history from the Google Home app and why can't we access the new Nest camera online from our computer? Why do we have to use two different apps to get notifications from our Google Nest cameras? Why does the new Nest camera not have the Enhance feature present on our existing Nest cameras to set zoom when recording history? Why can we only get email notifications from our existing Nest cameras and not the new Nest camera? This is NOT "seamless."

I cant create clips with the Home integration, I cant watch the camera through the web browser, the Home app just plain ole sux.....  I bought a 2 pack, and there is only one cable... and one charging plug.  HORRIBLE waste of money!

Unfortunately the new cameras don’t link with the Nest app.  Eventually Google will release a new app to bring it all together

They really need to fix this problem I just outfit my house with cameras. And I’m bringing all the cameras back because of this problem. Bad move Google

Personally, I think it is gonna be long wait.  Once of the Google people said look for updates in 2022.  I returned mine as I am not willing to wait that long just to get back to what we had.

This is insane. I may be returning the 4 cameras and door bell. I paid for a high end product, there are cheaper versions out there if I wanted to run multiple apps.

When I went to look for a new camera to use with my puppy I was excited to learn that Nest now had a battery option I could integrate with my 5 (FIVE) other Nest cameras.  I should have known that Google would do something stupid like this.  It's been one "customer-last" move after another since they took over.  I had no idea that this camera wouldn't integrate with the Nest App until I unboxed and tried it.  You guys are the worst.  I'm sending this thing back until you guys figure out how to serve your customers.

Any update on this?  My return window is narrowing. I still find it hard to believe that a Nest camera does not show in the NEST app. Why would they do this?

This is absolute shambles. I need to be able to see the cameras on PC

I am so mad right now. I never would have bought the new Nest camera had I known it wouldn't show up in the Nest app. I have an older Nest doorbell camera that I use in the Nest app. The doorbell camera shows up in the Google Home app, but I can't access the history or other camera settings. This is so janky. I will be returning the new Nest camera and finding a better solution. Also, I didn't find out until setting up the camera that there is a special "outdoor cable" that you have to buy. The included cable in only a few feet long and it plugs in backwards. The cable sticks out toward the front of the camera, not the back. Seriously?

I agree about the engineering of the cable direction.  I get not streaming live video on battery,  the Google store never makes these differences clear.  We all got used to the ease of the nest app.  Until Google development had a clear cut over to Home should they forced users to move.  It looks to me they let go of the Nest team and now just working on Google native app development.
