Nest cam battery has worse Wifi performance and goes offline

Problems:

Hello all, I've recently noticed that my 3 new Nest camera battery sometimes(3 or 4 times a day) ALL go to OFFLINE for a short period of time, which is extremely annoying and can miss critical camera footage. Only Nest camera battery goes offline but other devices, including Nest doorbell wired, are working fine!!!

I ran individual speed tests on each individual device and it is surprising that it gets relatively low wifi speed but not low enough to cause wifi outage.

I think I have 2 questions here.

1.  Isn't Nest wifi optimized for Nest camera battery? Why does it always have Wifi issue and so slow? Please see the photos attached.

2. Why does Nest Camera frequently go offline? I've followed EVERY SINGLE step listed in this google support doc. None of them works for me. When I reached out to Google support, they were just repeating the same words, aka. resetting your nest camera, over and over again.

Facts about my setup:

1.  I have 2 nest routers, the main router in the media room and the point is on the 1st floor. They are connected via an Ethernet port.

2. 3 cameras are also located on the 1st floor with the point. In addition, have 1 Nest doorbell wired installed at the front door.

3. My house is timber structured and has multi stories. The first floor is only about 700-800 square ft so I don't think Wifi coverage is the issue.

4. All cameras and doorbells are recording 24/7.

5. Home Internet plan is ZiplyFiber (1000 Mbps plan)

I’ve also noticed this offline behavior recently but on my Outdoor IQ cameras. Goes offline about five times per day for almost exactly three minutes every time. This started maybe a month ago and nothing has changed in my setup. Bizarre.

In fact, I've encountered similar issues last month and asked for help from Google support and unfortunately, they helped nothing but ask me to reset devices which I have done millions of times. After one day, it was mysteriously gone but now it comes back to me 😞

I don't think Google support can help more hence want to see if anyone can help me out.

I highly doubt that's a design flaw or software issue on the Nest cam battery.

Hi, isnestcamgood.
I just wanted to jump in real fast to see if you saw Brad's reply and to see if you still needed some help on this or if you were able to get it sorted out. If you are still needing some help, just let us know and we'll be happy to continue helping.
Thanks.

Hi Jeff and Brad, thanks for offering the help.

I think the issue has gone mysteriously but it was indeed frustrating. We suspect there was a short-term service outage on the Nest side but somehow Nest Service Dashboard doesn't have it included.

Thanks for the update, isnestcamgood. I'm happy to hear that it's working correctly for you. Hiccups happen, for sure. Sorry for any confusion it might have caused. Since things appear to be working fully, I'm going to go ahead and close up the thread. If you have any issues in the future, please feel free to open up a new discussion.

Thanks!

I am having the same issue. I have the nest camera battery wired. If I remove and reconnect the device with my Google Home app, it works normal for a day.  The very next day, I cannot check the live feed anymore.

Google WiFi router also showing terrible speed on the cameras.
