Hi, I got the latest "Nest cam indoor". So far everything is good.
Does anyone know how many faces of familiar faces are saved in the database?
I did register me and family members faces. I can see under known faces that the face capture gets more and more, (I know I can delete also manually).
But how big can it be from a single person?10,20 faces? Since it is new, I did not reach the maximum...by the way the algorithm seems not perfect especially for children, adults no problems. (If someone also knows how many faces it can recognize in a single frame this would help. Do we have specs about the face recognition?). Thanks

It will usually register one face per frame or if it’s confusing with two faces in the frame, it will show up as an unknown person and then you make the call.
As for how many, I’ve never seen a limit posted but I can tell you in one of my familiar faces, there is about 1,014 photos of one person.

Yea you can delete it but it doesn’t take away from any of your services or limits by leaving it as is. But to your point, it’s just different angles, facial expressions, hats, glasses, etc etc etc. The more snapshots, the better the recognition.

what's the logic behind the many faces of one person? I should regularly delete it? Sure the recognition rate gets better from my face from many angles but why should I see and save all familiar faces...btw 1.014 faces of one family member is, I don't know "useless" ?

Yes I know a little bit about face recognition, I was just curious about these faces, but I guess it is some kind of showing "transparency" for the users, to know which faces are used for the recognition. Thanks anyway 🙂
